Straight Jump

On a windy and bitterly cold but clear night, thousands showed up to watch the spectacular straight jump show in the Pejo valley. Launching from underneath the large Budweiser inflatable, crowd favorite Janet Mathews (CAN) began what would be a gold medal winning performance.
And not to be outdone, Italian star Lukas Goller put on a series of jumps, flips, and twists to earn the men's gold medal.

Also competing in Pejo to the crowd's delight was Cameroon sensation Francis Abena. Francis, who is president, secretary, treasurer and sole member of the Cameroon Snowboard Federation, was leading after the qualifications with spectacular twists, faltered in the finals. But Francis continues to carry the flag for all those snowboard "wannabe's" from around the world, demonstrating what a person can accomplish with hard work and persistence. And speaking of raising hope around the world, the Organizing Committee along with the ISF and PSA donated $15000 of the $20000 straight jump purse to free slaves in Sudan. The money, given to Christian Solidarity International, is aimed at freeing 150 slaves who each have $1000 worth of indenture.
