Today,
Monday the 25th it is the first contest day. All riders are looking
forward to compete against each other for the title of a world champion.
Today we have Qualification Giant Slalom and training in the Halfpipe.
The weather is very nice, blue sky and warm temperatures. The organization
of this whole event is running perfect as we have seen at the opening
ceremony. A huge amount of workers do their best to prepare all
the slopes and also the night program needs a lot of work. Tonight
there is a welcome party for all the riders with dancing girls and
also a live concert will take place. So we have a great program
here, day and night.
Results of
GS Men 1st run
The
first Qualification of the Giant Slalom is over. The slope was perfect,
hard snow challenging course setting and same conditions for all
the riders. It is the best course on the Tour so far. Even Ross
Rebagliati (Olympia Gold Medallist) said that it was one of the
best courses he has seen and he wants to ride it again soon. As
expected the Austrian rider Sigi Grabner was very good but I would
say he was a class for his own. He won the Qualifying with a big
time difference to the other riders. He nearly came late for the
start and he also has forgotten his knee protection but he maid
it. From place 2 to place 10 the time differences are very close
and so we can expect a very interesting final for tomorrow.
