BOARDERCROSS
FINALS
Another
sunny day for the Boardercross competition! Today it’s the
finals and the last event of the Worlds at the same time.
Very annoying are the heavy windstorms which make us freeze
badly. Nevertheless, the visitors saw some great athletes
racing the parcours, and thanks God no severe crashes occurred
due to a safe and well-prepared course. Most decisive was
the first jump after which the leading rider was pretty much
confirmed. US Boardercross hero Shaun Palmer met with all
expectations mastering the course unbeatable. As he always
announced, he is the expert in Boardercross. In the women’s
it was Maelle Ricker of Canada who could keep her leading
position of yesterday’s qualifications and also won Gold.
Top favorite Catherine Poetzl (AUT) had to give way to Maelle
and finished 2nd. Although some of the famous Boardercross
specialists were missing, the finals of today brought up winners
who honestly deserve the titles!
